Dear all,
I have shifted!
I loved this blog, as this was my first ever. But things change. I, for the first time in two years decided to change my address. My blog address to be specific. I have moved on to www.pleasekeepsilence.wordpress.com. Ok, I agree, the blog address is different, has a different platform and has a different concept behind it altogether. When I started this blog, I wasn't specific. It had no concrete concept, no concrete theme. But now I guess I am lot more concentrated. Ok, no blah blah. What I really want to say is this:
I have now shifted to www.pleasekeepsilence.wordpress.com. I am grateful to all those readers who have read my blog posts and commented, who have added me in their list and who came back to read new posts. I am grateful to those who just happened to stumble across my blog, and to all the software makers and programmers who made 'blogging' so easy. I am thankful to everyone.
See you all at my new address: www.pleasekeepsilence.wordpress.com

Devi Durga at traditional houses Part II
At the Dutta Bari...
At Chatu Babu Latu Babu traditional puja...
At Dutta Bari...
With this the traditional puja tour ended.
Devi Durga at traditional houses
Devi Durga at Rani Rasmoni house |
Here is how the once beautiful and gorgeous palace looks now...
Our second visit was at: Pratap Chandra Chandra's house.
This is what a typical 'Thakur Dalan' looks like...
A Thakur Dalan is that place of the house where the Devi puja is performed. This place is typically decorated with round shaped pillars and carved with designs. This is a segregated place in the house meant only for Goddess Durga. The other rooms of the house usually surrounds this place. The Thakur Dalan also has a big and wide verandah in the front. This is because during the time of Zamindars, dance performances were held in this area. This house has a small one. But many traditional have big and wide lawns in front of their Thakur Dalan.
Some other photographs of Durga Puja at Pratap Chandra's house...
The trip doesn't end here. I will be back with some new pictures...

The recent past
I haven't been blogging much. Rather for the past few months I was not even coming online. But this time around, I couldn't hold myself. I lost my brother three days back. He met with an accident, was admitted in a hospital where he breathed his last. I am yet to come out of this shocking incident. He was my cousin brother. My whole family is so incomplete now. It feels like someone has taken away one arm from the family. He was just 26. He was sitting behind his friend who was driving the bike when a matador coming from the opposite site smashed my brother. It was horrible to see him afterwards. Why aren't people a bit careful when they drive? Why doesn't the cars follow traffic rules? One life is gone. This is my request to everyone out there - Please follow traffic rules. You don't know whose family you would ruin otherwise.

One year on but the wound is still so fresh
Today India remembers that cruel date: 26/11. It doesn't feel one year. It feels like it has just happened and we are still trying to figure out what has happened. The wounds are still so fresh. And the moment I am opening a newspaper or a TV channel this wound is becoming all the more deep. Why this has affected me so much I don't know. There have been so many attacks in India till now but this was something else. But why do we have to put up with attacks in the first place. Why are we such a easy victim? I don't have an answer. And neither does million of Indians. Today I pray for all those souls who fell prey to non-stop bullets, those who fought to save lives, those who lost someone special. Today everyone remembered in their own way. TV channels, newspapers, organisations did something for those who lost their lives on 26/11. This blog is my remembrance for them. I love you Mumbai. I love you India. Keep rocking as you always did.

Exam day after tomorrow and I am blogging
Guess what! Day after tomorrow I have my first term examination and I am sitting here in front of the computer and blogging. Guess I cant keep my hands away from the computer. What have you done Bill Gates. Its not like I have finished preparation or something but my brain is jammed. I am overloaded with syllabus. Now the question comes what I was doing before. The answer: Had I known I wouldn't be blogging. I guess I am blogging just to take some time off the studies. I wish my teachers at Bhavans don't see this. Otherwise they will think what kind of students they are raising. That too in Public Relations where nothing can be left to last minute preparations. I don't know what will I write day after tomorrow (Hey! Thats the name of a film. See even now I am thinking of films. Can't get them out of my brains I guess). Anyways I will end by silly gibberish here. Wish me luck for the exams.
P.S. 1. You can follow me on Twitter. I am as Sarita Bose.
2. Next post will be on 26/11/2009
